Yuji Nishida scored 16 points with an 82 percent attack success rate. Ran Takahashi added 13 points from five aces and a 70 percent kill rate. Despite the loss, Australia finished second in Pool A and secured a quarterfinal spot, with William D'Arcy-Miles scoring 13 points and Lorenzo Pope adding 11. Elsewhere, South Korea defeated Qatar 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 to finish Pool C with seven points. Jaeyoung Lim led South Korea with 15 points. Qatar's opposite Mubarak Musa Thiik Madut was the match's top scorer with 17 points. The 2026 AVC Men's Volleyball Asian Championship means more than continental pride: it is a qualifying route for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics and a pathway to the 2027 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Cup. That is why every set, every 3-0 or 3-2 result can change the picture. India must prepare for both possibilities. If they stop here, they may regret not managing their earlier matches against Australia and South Korea better. If they advance, they will have learned a major lesson about controlling their fate on the court. While waiting, India should not waste time.
